LITHOGRAPHY
Lithographic printing works on the principle that oil and
water do not mix. In this process the non-image area on a plate is treated
so it accepts oil, which in turn repels the water based inks that are
passed over it, leaving ink only on the image area. This ink is then
transferred on to a rubber blanket which will make the impression on
the final substrate. Litho printing is one of the easiest print processes
in which to achieve pleasing results but it can sometimes give disappointing
results with regard to colour saturation and print consistency. |
